Transgender person gang-raped in DI Khan

The victim is a resident of Faisalabad who was allegedly gang raped in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A transgender person was allegedly gang-raped by four men near a shopping mall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) on Tuesday night.

According to the first information report (FIR) lodged at Cantt Police station on Wednesday, the victim told the police in the hospital that she was allegedly gang raped by her friend and his three other companions in her room.

The FIR mentioned that the victim is a resident of Faisalabad and is currently living in a rented room near Ashina shopping mall in DI Khan.

The victim claimed that she was tied with ropes and her dupatta and raped by the alleged accused turn by turn.

She said the accused then fled from the area, and the incident was also seen by other transgenders who had come after her, screaming.

Police However, started investigating the case and making efforts to track down the alleged accused.

Violence against the trans community in Pakistan is common; they often face discrimination and are subjected to violence.

Several have been killed and even crippled after violent incidents with them.
